Weddings - don't you just love them!

Don’t you just love weddings?    Especially when it all goes right!!  I went to a wonderful wedding at the weekend…….just perfect.  Not indulgent, false or flashy but memorable,  celebrated, relaxed and real.
A Marquee was set up in beautiful surroundings in a hidden Kent village which is an agricultural region farming fruit, hops and grain.  It was going to be a hot weekend…….so it was a good combination for a great day.  I watched it all come together the day before.  First the tables and chairs were set up and the white tablecloths went on, next the cutlery and glasses….then the centre table flowers  ….(Yes…I did arrange them!). Then boxes and boxes of Champagne, wine and beer and finally the Cake!!  An expectant party ready and waiting for the Bride and Groom and guests.
The wedding ceremony was set in a beautiful 14th century Church sumptuously furnished with dark oak pews and flint walls with choir stalls with musty smells . Cool and dark inside from the outside glare of the sun.  The tower contains 6 bells and a clock  (one of the oldest bells was cast in 1392)  and the noise resonated throughout the village on the day.  Wedding vows were said and the beautiful 'suited and booted' congregation stood up and vowed to support the happy couple in their life.

If only life could be like this everyday with everyone working together in harmony and unison.  I suppose, if we didn’t have perfect days like this…….then we couldn’t distinguish the good days from the bad and the good times from the bad times.
